General and Use full information

Description : A trip with 2WD and an English speaking driver. Passing throughout the highlands characteristic of the Imerina and Bestileo’s ethics’ landscapes. Visit parks and reserves of the south road : Ambohimahasoa, Anja and Isalo at the end of the adventure a relax time on the beach of the west south coast  of Ifaty  the village of the  Vezo ethnic.

Period : Throughout the year
Access : For everyone. Walks in the parks are flexible and don’t need special physical condition
Accommodation type : 2 stars standard ; clean hotels with  private sanitary ( tents with bed and common sanitary in Ialatsara)
Vehicles / Transports: All transfers and airports / hotels assistance are included. Trip with a 2WD and  English speaking driver.
Availability :   The proposed trip is  private and individual trip which could be arranged as per your requested period (take off or add on some days than the scheduled).
Flights: Domestic flights are not included, if necessary, we can book them. We advise you book your international flight in the country of departure.

Detailed program

Day 1               Antananarivo
                       Meet and assistance at the airport then transfer to the city center, accommodation at La Ribaudière

Day 2               Antananarivo – Antsirabe
                        Meet with the driver and briefing, then road to the thermal city of Antsirabe. 4 hours drive with some photos stops or short visit such as the visit of the aluminium factory at Ambatolampy. Accommodation at the Guest House  La Chambre du Voyageur or Couleur Café. Short city tour of Antsirbe and visit of the two  historical lakes Tritriva and Andraikiba.

Day 3               Antsirabe – Ambositra – Ambohimahasoa
                        Drive to Ambositra, visit of the capital of arts & crafts : woodcarvings, painting…. Continuation until the secondary forest reserve: Lemur Forest Camp. Overnight at Iala Tsara fix camp (tent with beds and common sanitary). Candle lightening. Nocturnal visit before the diner.

Day 4               Iala Tsara Reserve – Fianarantsoa 
                        In the morning, guided tour of Iala Tsara reserve : walks in a luxuriant secondary forest of  2 500 ha with last trace of primary forest. You will discover four species of lemurs. Then, drive to Fianarantsoa. Check-in Lac hotel, close to Sahambavy tea plantations.

Day 5               Fianarantsoa – Ranohira
                        Continuation via Ambalavao, visit of a local factory of Antaimoro paper and Anja’s private reserve (several lemurs). Crossing the Bara country (famous zebu breeders). Arrived at the end of the afternoon in the massive of Isalo and check- in Toiles de l’Isalo.

Day 6               Isalo
                        In the morning : “nymphes” waterfall visit, possibility of natural black and blue pool visit; come back to the village and walk to the natural pool in the afternoon. Come back to the hotel.

Day 7               Ranohira – Tuléar – Ifaty
                        4 hours drive to join Tulear.  Visit of a botanical garden at the entrance of Tulear (several endemic plants of the South and medicinal plants of Madagascar). Shell market visit. After lunch continuation to Ifaty. Check-in hotel Solidaire Mangily for 2 nights.

Day 8               Ifaty
                        Stay at the hotel. Many activities can be arranged with the hotel: baobab forest visit (7 species), excursion on a Vezo pirogue along the coral reef, snorkelling, diving, fishing.

Day 9               Ifaty – Tuléar – Tana
                        Depends of the flight schedules transfer to the airport of Tuléar and flight to Antananarivo. Correspondence flight back to Europe. End of services.
