From Tananarive to Sainte Marie via Perinet and Pangalanes
The East road : You will discover Madagascar Primary Forest , diiferent lemurs; the Perinet’s reserve ( ( Analamazotra or Mantadia ) ) where you can find the biggest lemur, called “Indri”,The Pangalana channel,Tamatave, Mahambo, and the Sainte Marie Island well know for the whales.

Description : The East road : You will discover the Perinet reserve where you can find the famous lemur Indri, The Pangalanes Channel, Mahambo and Sainte Marie island.
Access : For everyone. Walks in the parks are flexible and don’t need a special physical condition.

Cars / transport : All transfers airports are included. Trip with a 4WD and an English speaking driver.
Availability : The trip is private and could be arranged according to your dates.
Flights : Domestic flights are not included, if necessary, we can book them. We advise you book your international flight in the country of departure.
- Day 1 Antananarivo - Andasibe
Pick up at your hotel or the airport in the morning and departure for Perinet Reserve (National Park of Analamazaotra). Short break along the way at the farm of Pereyras. It’s a private reserve for breeding reptiles (lizards, chameleons, snakes, amphibians) and butterflies including the world’s largest butterfly the Comet, and various insects. Continuation to Andasibe. Installation at your hotel. (Step 150 kms – 3h30) Check in Grace Lodge for 2 nights.
- Day 2 Andasibe - Perinet Reserve
In the morning visit of Analamazaotra National Park (The Périnet) .Little, medium or big circuit according your physical condition (Tours can last from 2 to 6 hours). The reserve of Analamazaotra is known for its lemurs ”indri indri”, the biggest lemur of Madagascar, its powerful cry wakes the forest. An indri can perform a jump of 10 meters. In the afternoon we go to the private reserve of Vakona (islands of lemurs and the crocodile park) canoe trip in the islands and back to the hotel.
- Day 3 Andasibe - Manambato - Akany Nofy
In the morning we go ahead to Manambato , located Rasoabe lakeside in order to take boat for crossing the Pangalanes to Ankanin’ny Nofy, a paradise between water and forest, during the ride, bird watching, water plants, rice paddies, fish water fishing soft. Installation in Ecolodge Bush House . (Step 160 kms – 3 hours, crossing by boat from 30 to 45 min)
- Day 4 Akany Nofy
Boat to visit the hamlets of Ambodivontaka county, crossing the Ampitabe lake in 15 minutes. Then we follow the small river to reach the first village. Kingfishers follow us flying from tree to tree along this little river. In this village, Boogie’s Solidarityis giving free medical consultations and helping with the construction of an anti-cyclonic school building. Visit the village, school, coffee plantations and meet the friendly villagers. A short hike of 40 minutes to reach the next village, Haranana, crossing Pandanus and traveller’s treesforest. We can see women weaving the local basketry, people back from fishing. Here, we support health and educationprojects. Boat back to Bush House at the end. Departure around 8 am, length and distance 3 hours, 10 kms. In the afternoon, detent on the site.
At nightfall, around 5:30 pm, we walk along the Ampitabe Lake to the patch leading to the Pitcher plants lake. Our night adventure begins here, as we start looking for nocturnal lemurs Avahilaniger. We paddle on a canoe on this lake. On the trees, the eyes of these nocturnal lemurs shine on the light of our lamps. Birdsongs and other sounds of nocturnal animals are immersing us inside the forest of Pandanus, Ravinala, and carnivorous plants. Only the lapping of our paddles in the water breaks this absolute silence. If we are lucky, we will crocodiles’ eyes on the surface of the water during this adventure. Then we paddle on a small brooklet leading to lake Ampitabe and go home to the lodge. This tour can also be walked.
- Day 5 Ankany Nofy - Manambato - Tamatave - Mahambo
We go back by boat to Manambato, the driver is already there. Continue by road to Mahambo through hills and green mountains made up of bamboo, traveler’s trees, palm tree.We cross the coastal city of Tamatave, it’s the largest port of Madagascar, continue towards Foulpointe along the east coast of the island and lush. Arrival in Mahambo by mid / late afternoon. Installation at the hotel at the edge of a lagoon. Mahambo is known for its lobsters that restaurants offer in season. (Step 175 kms, 4h30) Hotel La Pirogue.
- Day 6 Mahambo - Soneranivongo - Sainte Marie
In mid-morning transfer by boat to Sainte Marie (around 2 to 3 hours crossing, with Company El Condor ) .Transfer land to the hotel. Île Sainte-Marie is known for its authenticity and preserved its groups of humpback whales, its romantic history and hospitality of its inhabitants. Hotel Boraha Village for 3 nights.
- Day 7 and 8 Sainte Marie
Stay at the hotel that can offer you all kinds of excursions: from July to mid September there is a ” Safari Whales Watching”, outing to ”Iles aux nattes” or ”the island with mats”, to the cove, island tour by bike or car.
”Safari whales watching” : Just a few steps from the coast and further out to sea, It’s spectacular! During these three months (July-September), only concerned about their amorous jousting cetaceans perform amazing leaps above the water, or hit the surface of the water with their pectoral fins, or probe and show their flukes, or come to the surface to observe what is happening there, and later in the season the mothers with their calves await us … An unforgettable experience to live absolutely!
Iles aux Nattes or ”Nosy Nanto” is located in south of Sainte Marie. It is separated by beautiful clear water and blue lagoon which surrounds the island to fully mats and separates the Indian Ocean by a large and beautiful coral reef. One of the characteristics of the island , the existence of Blévec lighthouse, from which the view is magnificent and extends over the reefs and the East Coast. Iles aux nattes one of the unmissable places in Sainte Marie. Upon crossing pirogue, the scents of tropical flora promise you an unique moment of escape ..
- Day 9 Sainte Marie - Tana
Transfer to the airport and flight back to Antananarivo. End of services.
